At Punch Studio we create beautifully designed products that bring delight to people’s everyday lives and homes. We are privately held, with headquarters in Culver City, CA. In our design and product development studios we create stationery, home and gift products that are found in leading retailers all over the world. It’s truly “all about the art”, with our more than 50 in house artists.

We are looking for an experienced Product Manager to join our team. Most of our product lines are custom made for our major accounts. They love our artwork and products. We love to help them succeed. It’s a collaborative work environment, which highly values team effort and success. As a Product Manager, you will join our dynamic Product Development team, working side by side with the creative and operations teams to make it all happen.

Working closely with Sales, Designers, Purchasing, and the Product Development team, our Product Manager will:

  • Create new products based on customer requests and sample shopping, determining specifications and target costs for new items
  • Determine target sell prices and factory costs for new items by analyzing the market, in addition to established sell prices and comparative values of similar piecetypes
  • Negotiate with factories using a strong understanding of development costs and manufacturing techniques
  • Communicate with overseas factories, following up on all product development and approval samples for new items
  • Work with Sales to help establish timelines for each program, defining PD deliverables and securing key due dates with factories
  • Anticipate and identify potential challenges and proactively recommend course of action in a timely manner
  • Manage quality control of items throughout the approval process, with a sharp eye for detail to make sure all product specification and quality standard are met, and follow through to resolve any issues
  • Direct PD needs for style-outs including managing deadlines, working with Sales and Design to define sample needs, and requesting and tracking samples from factories
  • Provide Project Management support for programs, developing systems as needed to best organize timelines and facilitate between internal teams, customer teams, and factories
  • Maintain final costing, final sell price, final specs, and bought/available status of developed products
  • Partner with cross-functional teammates to brainstorm for new programs, problem-solve, and meet deadlines

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 1-2 years of Product Development experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Working knowledge of Product Development process
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Detail-oriented, precise and careful
  • Skilled multi-tasker, able to juggle priorities in a fast paced, exciting environment
  • Team player with a positive outlook
  • Great communication skills, both written and verbal
